This piece is very hard to photograph and explain. It has a optical illusion effect as you move from one view point to the other side. The top has a serpentine curve and the bottom serpentine curve is in reverse image. The highly figured bubinga has a rolled figure which also adds to the depth of this piece. To me it has the look and feel of an orthotopographical map of some very rugged terrain. The shelf and hand carved center piece are bloodwood. This piece is signed original art.
